Service of thankgiving for Lindsay's life
27/05/2010 22:46:00

This afternoon, there was a service of thanksgiving in Croydon Parish Church for the life of my friend Lindsay Frost, following the funeral service for family and close friends a couple of weeks ago. I'd like to thank the Mayor's Office and Canon Colin Boswell for the beautiful service. Two Old Palace pupils, Alice Parr and Sophie Winter, gave beautiful performances (Alice sang Pie Jesu and Sophie performed a cello solo by Bruch) and Colin Parker, a friend of Lindsay's from his time at sea, gave a wonderful - and witty, not an easy thing to do on such occasions - tribute that captured him perfectly. Good to see Andrew Pelling and many members of the Labour Group there. Lindsay would have been chuffed.

Commenting on my blog

I welcome readers' comments on my blog. Unfortunately, sometimes people go too far and use blog sites to post comments which are abusive or defamatory to third parties. For this reason, your comments, posted using the form on this page, don't appear until they have been moderated, to make sure that they don't cross that line.

My policy is that I will always let comments appear from people who disagree with me, in a spirit of promoting reasoned debate. However, I will not allow comments to be posted which are defamatory to someone else, or which are racist, sexist, homophobic or otherwise likely to fail a 'public decency' test.

Consequently, there may be some hours delay after you post your comment until it appears on the public pages.
