Council invests £300,000 to improve New Addington Pool
16/12/2009 23:51:00

With the successful village green application having delayed the prospect of a new swimming pool in New Addington, the Council has announced that it will be spending £300,000 on urgent works to keep the existing pool in an acceptable condition. The Council hopes to get a contractor on site in late February. The works are expected to take a little over a couple of months to complete, allowing the pool to re-open in early May.

I and my fellow New Addington action team members Tony Pearson and Robert Hughes have been lobbying for this for some time. The changing rooms in particular are in need of urgent investment. I am delighted that the Council has listened.

Commenting on my blog

I welcome readers' comments on my blog. Unfortunately, sometimes people go too far and use blog sites to post comments which are abusive or defamatory to third parties. For this reason, your comments, posted using the form on this page, don't appear until they have been moderated, to make sure that they don't cross that line.

My policy is that I will always let comments appear from people who disagree with me, in a spirit of promoting reasoned debate. However, I will not allow comments to be posted which are defamatory to someone else, or which are racist, sexist, homophobic or otherwise likely to fail a 'public decency' test.

Consequently, there may be some hours delay after you post your comment until it appears on the public pages.
