On 19th June, the latest round of the Regional Growth Fund opened for bids. Local business are able to apply for a share of the £200 million available.
The fund supports projects that use private sector investment to create jobs and growth. To date, £150 million of funding has been allocated to 26 bids from London and the South East, attracting £1.1 billion of private investment and supporting 40,000 jobs. A good example is the City High Growth and Innovation Fund run by the Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership (which covers the region from the south coast to Croydon).
Creating more jobs by backing small businesses is a key part of this Government’s long-term economic plan to secure a better and brighter future for Britain. Each new job this fund supports means another family with the security of a regular pay packet.
This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses in Croydon to apply for funding to help them grow and create jobs. I hope that many will take it up.
