Charity Walk 2013
12/09/2013 15:20:00

Despite the rain, I was joined by 18 people for my annual 18-mile charity walk around the borders of my constituency on Sunday 8th September.

However, due to severe illness I sadly was personally unable to complete the walk on Sunday, though around 10 people persevered and finished in about 7 hours.

I resumed the walk today and managed to complete it in about 6.5 hours.

I was joined on the walk by some inspirational volunteers from Croydon Visual, a superb local charity supporting the blind and visually-impaired in the borough. I want to thank everyone who came along and everyone who supported the walk to date.

So far we’ve raised over £2,700, a huge achievement for such a great local cause that makes the sore legs worth it.

If you’re able to donate, please visit www.justgiving.com/gavinbarwellmp.

Along the way today I tweeted my progress, I've collected a few of the tweets below for your amusement!
