Labour candidate lets the cat out of the bag
21/01/2009 22:41:00

My Labour opponent, Gerry Ryan, has told The Croydon Guardian that it would make things "a bit more exciting" if Andrew Pelling stood as an Independent at the next Election. Translation: with Labour trailing by 14 points in the latest opinion poll, he knows that his prospects of winning the seat are pretty bleak, he doesn't think Andrew would have a chance of winning as an Independent but he does hope that he would split the Conservative vote, giving Gerry a fighting chance.

So there you have it: Labour think the only people who would benefit from Andrew standing as an Independent are them. I suspect Gerry might regret letting this particular cat out of the bag...
