Get well soon Malcolm
23/10/2011 10:55:00

I have just got back from a week in India at my best friend's wedding (which explains the lack of posts over the last week) to find that my next door neighbour Croydon North MP Malcolm Wicks has been diagnosed with cancer.

Malcolm is a good local MP and a decent man. I didn't know him that well before I got elected but over the last year and a half I have often given him a lift home after a late night vote and we've got to know each other quite well. Whatever our party political differences, I have come to consider him as a friend.

My thoughts are with him and his family and I look forward to him making a full recovery.
