Government confirms that none of its funding for long-term economic development of Croydon and Tottenham will got to Tottenham Hotspur
16/09/2011 06:42:00

A number of people have raised concerns that the Mayor of London is going to give a big chunk of the £20 million that the Government has given him to support the long-term economic development of Croydon and Tottenham to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

I was therefore delighted to receive a letter from Eric Pickles yesterday confirming that not a penny of this money will be used for this purpose. The Mayor's office is, along with Haringey Council, providing some support for the Northumberland Park regeneration scheme but quite rightly none of this money will be used for that purpose.
