Nightstalker found guilty
24/03/2011 22:48:00

Welcome news that Delroy Grant, the man suspected of being the so-called Night Stalker, has today been convicted of 29 charges at Woolwich Crown Court including three rapes, one attempted rape, six indecent assaults, one sexual assault, sixteen burglaries and two attempted burglaries.

Grant has been linked to 203 offences in total, though police think the actual number may be three times higher, which took place across south London, including in Addiscombe and Shirley, between October 1992 and November 2009. His victims were elderly men and women, many of whom were blind, deaf or had conditions including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.

Sadly, many of his victims are no longer alive to see him face justice but elderly people across the constituency will sleep easier in their beds tonight now that justice has finally been done.
