Love Lane Green
25/10/2008 06:05:00

Last night, I attended a meeting of the Love Lane Green Residents Assocation along with my colleague Cllr Steve Hollands, the Cabinet Member for Culture & Sport (for those who don't know it, Love Lane Green is an area of Metropolitan Open Land to the east of Love Lane on either side of the tramline that was sold into private ownership by the London Residuary Body following the abolition of the GLC).

Those present were understandably frustrated at the delay in bringing the land back into public use and the appalling state of the Green at present. Steve and I set out the action that the Council is now taking, which hopefully reassured everyone present of our commitment to resolving this issue as quickly as possible, and we agreed to work with the Residents' Association and the local Labour councillors to take things forward.
