A visit to St Mary's Catholic High School
20/01/2011 14:50:00

I’d normally be in Westminster on a Thursday but I got to spend most of today in the constituency, starting with a visit to St Mary’s where I spent over an hour answering questions from Year 11 students.

They were obviously concerned about the cuts that the Government is having to make to reduce the deficit, particularly to EMA, and the increase in tuition fees, but there were also questions on obesity, promoting cycling, policing tactics, jobs for young people and the 2018 World Cup to name a few. All in all, one of the most inspiring things I have done since getting elected, completely at odds with the negative portrayal of young people in the media.

If you’d like me to visit your school, get in touch.
