Lobbying for a fair deal for Croydon
12/01/2011 15:40:00

This afternoon, I joined the Leader and Deputy Leader of the Council in lobbying Grant Shapps, the Minister for Housing and Local Government, for an increase in the funding that the Government gives to Croydon Council.

Croydon has been getting a raw deal for a number of years now and although under the new Government we’ve no longer got the worst settlement in the country, we’re still not getting our fair share.

The Minister gave us a fair hearing and some of the changes he is planning to make over the next couple of years should help but the Council is going to have to take some very difficult decisions this year.
