My condolences to the Prime Minister and his family
08/09/2010 18:23:00

I have just heard the sad news that the Prime Minister's father Ian Cameron has passed away while on a family holiday in southern France. My thoughts are with him and his family at this difficult time.

I lost my father just over five years ago. He sacrificed a great deal for my brother and I so election night, which should have been a happy night, was tinged with a deep regret that he didn't live to see me elected. I hope the Prime Minister will draw some comfort from the fact that his father lived long enough to see him achieve his dream.
