Tribunal decision beggars belief
09/07/2008 16:47:00

Yesterday's decision by a Football League tribunal that Spurs should pay just £700,000 for Eagles prodigy John Bostock beggars belief.

If the authorities want clubs like Palace to invest in young talent then tribunal decisions have to reflect the market value of the player in question. If Premier League clubs are allowed to poach the brightest talent on the cheap then smaller clubs aren't going to invest in youth development. How's that going to help the game in general and the England team in particular?
