Another attempt to develop Love Lane Green
15/06/2010 23:06:00

The owners of Love Lane Green have submitted another planning application to put houses on the site. This application is for 14 three-bedroom houses, an access road and associated parking. The rest of the site would be public open space.

Love Lane Green is metropolitan open land. It should never have been sold off by the previous Conservative Government following the abolition of the GLC. Allowing housing on this site would set a terrible precedent. I will be submitting an objection (as I am sure will the local Labour councillors) and hopefully if the Council turns down the application it will convince the owners to sell the whole site so it can all be public open space.
