This afternoon, I attended the funeral of David Squibb, who was for a number of years (including the period from 1983 and 1990 when I was a pupil) the Director of Music at Trinity School where I am now Chairman of the Governors. The service was held at St Michael and All Angels with St James in central Croydon and was attended by a huge number of current and former pupils and staff, a reflection of the profound influence David had on the school.
David more than anyone is responsible for Trinity having what is perhaps the best music department of any non-specialist school in the country. My heartfelt condolences to his family.
