Saturday 1st May - 5 days to polling day
01/05/2010 23:30:00

Today we delivered half the constituency in a single day. The photo shows one of three teams we had out in front of Woodside Conservative Club. Just after we had dispersed to deliver the whole of Woodside in two hours, Labour Leader Tony Newman and his colleague Paul Scott came past all on their own.

Got home tonight to find David Cameron's strong performance in the polls - and I sense on the doorstep a growing realisation that a hung parliament would mean politicians focusing on the possibility of another election rather than taking the right decisions for the long-term - has been reflected in the opinion polls. If we can maintain this progress over the next five days, we can still win this election outright.
