A chance encounter speaks volumes about the state of the Labour Party today
21/03/2010 08:08:00

We were out canvassing in Addiscombe yesterday when we came across two guys delivering leaflets for the Labour Party. Over the years, you get to know opposition activists fairly well but none of us had ever seen these two guys before. Out of politeness, we went up and introduced ourselves and it turns out they worked for a company called Guaranteed Leaflet Distribution.

Now there's nothing illegal about paying people to deliver leaflets for you and I am sure it will appear in my Labour opponent's election expenses but the fact that Labour can't find enough people who want to see them back in control of Croydon Council to deliver a few thousand leaflets in a key marginal ward speaks volumes.
