Martin Linton is currently the Labour MP for Battersea. He has written to some of his constituents criticising the local Conservatives for supporting a particular development and in the letter he says “I don’t think planning issues should be party political but the Conservatives seem to want to turn parts of Wandsworth into a new Croydon”.
Personally I would much rather live in Croydon, with its parks and open spaces on the edge of the Surrey countryside but with great access to central London than in the centre itself. It seems many of Mr Linton's constituents agree because there is a net migration from Wandsworth to Croydon every year.
According to the bookies, he’s not likely to be representing Battersea for much longer so if he’s thinking of making a fresh start somewhere else after 6th May maybe he should come and take a look.
