If the snow ever meltsAfter the snow melts, we are going to face real problems with the condition of our roads – partly because of the prolonged freezing conditions and partly because of years of under-investment in road maintenance by the previous Labour administration.

Since we took control of the Council, we have increased spending on road maintenance and I hope that when the Council’s budget for the financial year 2010/11 is published it will include a further significant increase. In the meantime, please feel free to report the location of any potholes to me and I will pass them on to my colleague Cllr Phil Thomas, who is responsible for road maintenance.
