A year for change
04/01/2010 20:21:00

For most people, New Year is a time of optimism when we think about our hopes for the next 12 months. But in 2010 we can do more than hope. In less than 150 days - probably on 6th May - we are going to have a General Election. We are finally going to have the chance to have our say on Gordon Brown's tenure as Prime Minister. 2010 can be a year for change.

David Cameron effectively launched our campaign for that election this morning, focusing on our top priority the NHS.

You can read our draft manifesto and ask David a question here. And at 6.30pm on Friday David will be answering your questions in a live webchat.

General elections are about a government's and all political parties 'tenure' in power or opposition -not a personal popularity poll on political leaders or prime ministers.

It seemed to me David Cameron launched confusion about Conservative tax policies particularly re marriage recognition in the tax system. I thought that a Conservative government in the 80's at last managed to deal with the potentially discriminatory aspects of marriage recognition in the tax system - Nigel Lawson?
