Over the last 12 months, I've been contacted by hundreds of constituents - many of them on multiple occasions - about local rail services.
Commuters are facing a double whammy of constant delays and cancellations as well as overcrowding when services are on time. Given how much we have to pay for our travelcards, it's completely unacceptable.
So who is to blame? The operator, GoVia Thameslink Railway Ltd (which most people know by its old name, Southern)? Network Rail, who are responsible for the track and signalling? Or successive governments for not investing enough in our infrastructure?
And, more importantly, what can be done to improve things?
I am holding a public meeting with representatives of the Department for Transport, GoVia and Network Rail at the Town Hall at 7pm on 18th February. Come along and have your say.
