Tram replacement works
02/07/2015 15:14:00

Transport for London are undertaking essential track replacement works on the road crossings at Kent Gateway and Gravel Hill. The work will take place in two phases between Wednesday 22nd July and Friday 31st July.

For the duration of this project works will be going on around the clock. Where possible, the noisiest activities will be carried out during the day. While these works are undertaken there will be no tram service between Sandilands and New Addington in either direction.

From 27th July until 1st August access to Gravel Hill side roads, including Abbots Green (from the roundabout connecting Shirley Hills Road to Gravel Hill and the A2022) will be restricted to residents and their visitors. To ensure access during this time, residents will be issued with a permit to place in their vehicle dashboard and traffic marshals have been instructed to allow access to visitors. If residents require more than one vehicle permit, they should call 0343 222 2424.

You’ll not be able to access Addington Park car park during the work but the park will remain open as normal.

The replacement bus services will run as follows:

• Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th July

o Replacement bus service A, will run between New Addington and East Croydon (Dingwall Road). It will stop also at King Henry’s Drive, Fieldway, Addington Village, Gravel Hill, Coombe Lane and Lloyd Park tram stops.

• Phase 2 - Monday 27th to Friday 31st July

o Replacement bus service A, coordinated with bus 64, will run between New Addington and East Croydon (Dingwall Road). Because of the road being closed at Gravel Hill, buses will follow an extensive diversion via Selsdon. They will stop also at King Henry’s Drive, Fieldway and Addington Village tram stops with alternative stops for Gravel Hill (in Selsdon Park Road) and Lloyd Park (in Croham Road and South Park Hill).

o Replacement bus service B will run between East Croydon (Dingwall Road), Lloyd Park and Coombe Lane tram stops only.

A drop-in session will be held at the Addington Palace Golf Club on Wednesday 8th July between 5pm and 9pm should you have any questions.
